About me

I gave up my career in finance to turn my world on its head and train as a cheesemaker at The School of Artisan Food.  A year later I graduated with a distinction in Dairy, having also minored in butchery.  Intended to make cheese but then everything changed.  Met a lovely man, moved in, got married and he is now retired.  We lead a very varied life.  Foraging, growing veg, walking dogs, making for my home run bakery business (I know, should be cheese), brewing beer and wine, babysitting our 2 lovely young granddaughters, hen rescuing and, as a new adventure,  we took on a half acre walled garden that was a blank canvas, being mainly laid to lawn.  All got turned on its head when we decided to buy a property in France, while caring for our cancer fighting son.  We closed the bakery business, gave up the walled garden and are now the proud and excited owners of a 5 acre smallholding in Brittany.  After monthly visits, with our camper van crammed to the rafters we moved in full time in May 2018, once we’d got the all clear on the cancer front.  We certainly don’t stand still!!!
